DIE GEGENWART kann ganz schön ernüchternd sein. Kommst du mit in die Achtziger? Hier geht’s um eine neue Band, die so auch hätte in den Achtzigern spielen können, also New Wave, Synthwave etc., aber nicht um Covers (die wird’s nicht geben). Willkommen sind alle Instrumente (außer Gitarre, sorry) und Ideen. Diese Gruppe soll als Team alles zusammen erarbeiten – natürlich auch die Songs. Wir wollen nicht vermeintlich bessere alte Zeiten bejubeln (sie waren nicht besser). Vielmehr sollen Achtziger-Sounds im Mittelpunkt stehen, weitergedacht und ins Heute übertragen.
Was meinste?
THE PRESENT can be quite sobering. Are you coming with us into the eighties? This is about a new band that could have played like this in the eighties, i.e. New Wave, Synthwave etc., but not about covers (there won't be). All instruments (except guitar, sorry) and ideas are welcome. This group is supposed to work out everything together as a team – including the songs, of course. We don't want to celebrate supposedly better old days (they weren't better). Rather, the focus should be on eighties sounds, thought through further and transferred to the present day.

I already have a couple of personal music project by myself in electronic music. Since I’m also a guitarist (/synths enthusiast) and a metalhead it would be cool to share my passion in different directions with other music enthusiasts. Im a fan of meshuggah, gojira, tool, arch enemy and so on plus all the classics of course. But I listen to everything cool (from Pink Floyd, Radiohead, archive, godisanastronaut, depechemode to Chopin, etc..). Plus of course (proper) techno and electronic.? I like to jam and experiment. So it’s good to keep an open mind (it depends, if we wanna bang with trash metal that’s also ok but maybe a little experimental/electronic is better). The plan for live shows is to keep drums on playback and add a person for the synth parts.
Ideally I am looking for someone who is okay with playing my material and adapt to the needs of the songs that are written. I am not against creative input, and am willing to put them on future recordings, but everything needs to work with what I am going for stylistically. A female voice for backing vocals is a big plus.
I am also open to beginner keyboard players, as long as you can do basics like rhythmically playing an extended chord with both of your hands.
The most important thing is that we get along and can be friends. Not interested in session musicians, at least for now.

We are drifting clouds, a shoegaze/dream pop band looking for a lead guitarist (or a synth player). We are Sven (drums), Flo (bass) and Clara (vocals and rhythmic guitar). We rehearse once a week for 2-3 hours in Wedding and will soon publish our first EP. Hey 👋 I recently moved to Germany for a new job from out of country. I’m living in Braunschweig but it’s easy to go to Berlin every weekend by train. My music is all original pop/hip-hop/dance (Simulated Youth is my performance name). Some songs have a dark edgy vibe, and others are totally goofy. When I perform I do live drumming and also live vocals for some of the songs. But most of my songs feature female singers, so I always need to perform with backing track.
I’m sure my music is one-of-a-kind but I haven’t been able to have any organic growth in 3 years of trying lol….. Now that I’m in Germany, I want to form a band and see if that’s the missing piece of the puzzle 😈 “strength in numbers” as they say

Hi! Psychedelic/Funky Project consisting of Vocals, Bass, Drums, Guitar is looking for a Synth Player as a proper member of the band. We usually unite in Moabit in a room on Sundays. Sometimes we do extra rehearsals in Noisy Rooms aswell.
We're in the middle of recording an Album and want to finish and album to use it to apply for liveshows in 2024. We've got over 8 Songs layed out, and operate with a heavy focus on recording/jamming - so we do a structure with vocals guitar, play it, then take it into jam, structure again, record etc until it feels right. One of a members is an experienced sound engineer so recording quality is pretty awesome, we play together live and recording to get the feeling down. Later guitar/bass/vocals/synth can be recorded via home studio. We also got some video recording capability in the band and everyone has live experience etc
Ideally we'd love to have a bit of a synth lover that likes to experiment with sounds, is good in improvising/doing stuff by ear but may also have some theoretical knowledge (not a must). Some cool berlin electro sounds could also be very interesting.
If you got some home recording setup so we can send you files and you record your stuff over it that would also be super nice. We're doing Logic at the moment but can track bounce so you can use other software aswell.
One thing to take into account is that two of our members are shortly soon going into baby break, which is also a reason why we are so recording focussed. So we'll pretty much have to work with what we have. But nevertheless we're covinced that it's worth it and that we're going to get some good stuff out that we can perform next year.

Im a fan of meshuggah, gojira, tool, arch enemy and so on plus all the classics of course. But I listen to everything cool (from Pink Floyd, Radiohead, archive, godisanastronaut, depechemode to Chopin, etc..). Plus of course techno and electronic.? So it’s good to keep an open mind (it depends, if we wanna bang with trash metal that’s also ok but maybe a little experimental/electronic is better).

We're looking particularly for a drummer, although we're also open to auditions from guitarists, bassists, string players, synthesists, etc. We're flexible and open to any instrumentation that makes sense. I’m aiming for a 5-piece, but can see both smaller & bigger lineups working.
The project is about 3 years old, and we’re in the middle of releasing our debut album. The first single was released in May (https://www.obscuresound.com/.../cautionary-tales-no.../, https://post-punk.com/listen-to-cautionary-tales-doom...), and the album itself is scheduled for August

Creatively, the elevator pitch is “literary art-rock”. It’s tricky to describe music in words, but as a songwriter I’m influenced by the great songwriters:
===> Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Bob Callahan
===> Yard Act, Idles, Nadine Shah, the National, Swans, PJ Harvey
===> Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Low
And intricate, experimental art-rock:
===> St Vincent, Radiohead, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Einstürzende Neubauten
Obviously this is a diverse set of influences, so we tend to experiment with different approaches and focus on pushing ourselves creatively, rather than pursuing one specific sound.
I’m looking for folks with great technical skills and solid experience, who are reliable, excellent communicators, and love this kind of music. The project will suit those who are interested in something serious, with deadlines, a tight working schedule, and professional ambitions.
I’m a cis white dude, so feel it’s good to explicitly mention that my community is largely queer, and this project is explicitly queer, femme and non-binary friendly. This should be a given, but isn’t.

Wir sind Thomas, José und Max (m 28-34), machen seit kurzem gemeinsam Musik und haben auch schon ein paar Songs fertig geschrieben/Demos aufgenommen. Um uns klanglich etwas breiter aufzustellen, suchen wir jetzt Verstärkung an der Gitarre und oder Synths/Keys.
Aktuell treffen wir uns mindestens 1x in der Woche zum gemeinsamen Proben und Schreiben. Bis Ende des Jahres wollen wir noch ein paar Songs veröffentlichen und nach Möglichkeit gemeinsam auftreten.
