I would roughly describe the music we want to make as post punk/hardcore in the style of bands like defeater, turnstile, be well, shoreline, daggermouth, more than life, basement, title fight, just to name a few. First songs are already in progress and we all have 20+ years experience playing in a band.

Wir haben seit Januar unsere beiden ersten Singles released und planen im Juli unsere EP-release, deswegen würden wir auch gerne anfangen uns auf Gigs vorzubereiten und am liebsten im Frühling schon welche spielen.

We are 3 people (bass, two guitars) looking for an ambitious drummer to complete our lineup. We have been playing together since the beginning of this year, writing songs and now rehearse 2/3 times per week in Lichtenberg. Our plan is to play live and record our music in the near future.
All of us are putting a lot of time and effort into this project, so we are looking for someone who is equally ambitious and motivated. A lot of the songs are rather fast-paced and require tight and steady drumming, so you should bring some experience and be able to play fast and punky rhythms in the style of early The Cure, Surf Curse or Joy Division.
For reference, some more bands we like are Fontaines DC, King Krule, The Smiths, Black Marble, Idles, Eagulls, Highschool, Citizen, High Vis, My Bloody Valentine, The Jesus and Mary Chain etc.

Weniger Lust habe ich auf Ska, Doom/Stoner/Sludge, Deutschrock, Partycover, Metal in allen Spielarten (außer ihr klingt wie Entombed oder Dismember), Indiepop, Shoegaze mit verhuschten Matscheriffs, Blues, Altherren-Rock, Beatdown, Grunge oder Alternative.
So gar keine Lust habe ich auf Antisemiten, Sexisten, homo-/transfeindliche Vollhonks, unpolitische Oi!-Heinis, Burzumshirts, Mackerattitüde und Stammtisch-Geprolle, „Ich bin ja kein X, aber...“-Sager und ähnliche Totalausfälle.
Alter (von volljährig bis Apotheken Umschau im Abo), Geschlecht, sexuelle Orientierung, Lohnarbeit oder Studium etc. ist mir dafür völlig schnuppe. Es wäre schön, wenn ihr ein paar Jahre Praxis mitbringt – für blutige Anfänger*innen fehlt mir leider die Geduld.

30M here. In the past, I played drums in a post-metal band, guitar in a melodic hardcore band, and bass in a post-punk band. I'd like to start a music project. In the last months, I listened to a lot of lighter/faster emo/math rock, so I'd be down for either something that fits that style or darker post-rock/post-metal.

Hey I'm an amateurish guitarist, singer who enjoys writing songs. Looking for collaborators to bring something new to live. My ideal is to quickly bang out songs that we don't really have to labor over but still consider a labor of love. I'm very happy with 4/4 and 3 Chords but can't stand corny lyrics (happy with silly nonsense though).

I really like different types of music - mostly around rock, but it's not limited to.
From the Indie Rock bands that I love - it's "Radiohead", "Oasis", "RHCP", "Yeah Yeah Yeahs", "Daughter" etc.
From the other well known and different stuff I am passionate of ZZTop, Rolling Stones, Tool, Nirvana, Metallica, Within Temptation, A7X, Lacuna Coil, Linkin Park, Korn, Depeche Mode, IAMX etc.
Btw, I am Ukrainian, 39, live in Berlin over 5 years (now in the middle of Wedding and P-Berg), have my own music gear (it's Fender Telecaster and Gibson SG and the nice minimum set of 6 pedals that I have curated)
Have total guitar skills of about 4 years and during the last 12 months I am going to the rehearsals almost each week with my current band.
I am always loving to improve my guitar skills and experiment with different kind of chord progressions, melodies, rhythm stuff, guitar effects etc.

I’m Will: the singer, songwriter & bandleader for a post-punk, art-rock project called Cautionary Tales. I’ve just moved from Aotearoa/New Zealand to Berlin, and am putting together a new lineup, for both touring and writing/recording sessions.
We're looking particularly for a drummer, although we're also open to auditions from guitarists, bassists, string players, synthesists, etc. We're flexible and open to any instrumentation that makes sense. I’m aiming for a 5-piece, but can see both smaller & bigger lineups working.
The project is about 3 years old, and we’re in the middle of releasing our debut album. The first single was released in May (https://www.obscuresound.com/.../cautionary-tales-no.../, https://post-punk.com/listen-to-cautionary-tales-doom...), and the album itself is scheduled for August

Creatively, the elevator pitch is “literary art-rock”. It’s tricky to describe music in words, but as a songwriter I’m influenced by the great songwriters:

Obviously this is a diverse set of influences, so we tend to experiment with different approaches and focus on pushing ourselves creatively, rather than pursuing one specific sound.
I’m looking for folks with great technical skills and solid experience, who are reliable, excellent communicators, and love this kind of music. The project will suit those who are interested in something serious, with deadlines, a tight working schedule, and professional ambitions.
I’m a cis white dude, so feel it’s good to explicitly mention that my community is largely queer, and this project is explicitly queer, femme and non-binary friendly. This should be a given, but isn’t.
