My name is Denis "Din" O' Sullivan. I am 59 years young and have been playing guitar for more than 50 of those years. The first group in which I played guitar was in 1983. I played in rock bands during the 80's and 90's before chaniging pace and direction in the 2000's. I've been a singer songwriter for 21 years, a film maker and photographer for 18 years. I have decades of live and studio experience and for the past 2 years I've been living in Andalucia, Spain writing, filming and learning to play flamenco guitar.In 2015 I produced a solo live show called "Projections" incorporating everything in my skill set from playing electric and acoustic guitar to singing to videos being projected along with backing tracks.

I’ve been busking over the last few years and started playing gigs this summer and I really wanna be sharing a stage with an amazing band rather than playing alone in the future. Hi! I'm a vocalist recently relocated to Berlin and looking to join a band to sing with — whether it's for jamming, writing originals, or performing live.
I grew up singing in the Children’s Choir of the Bulgarian National Radio, where I trained for 8 years and developed a strong musical foundation. In my teens, I picked up the acoustic guitar, took vocal lessons, and began performing with bands. I was raised on a healthy dose of Rock ’n’ Roll, spawning my navigation of the world of music from an early age. I began singing and dancing in the backstage of small concerts at the age of five followed by playing the piano to a huge audience - Yasmin and Duda: a dachshund of wealth and taste; and a rescued dog that has being put back into society - before find his perfect match in the electric bass guitar.
My experiences has seen me in recording, sound designing and mixing audio for advertising and cinema as well as graduating from the South America renowned Methodist University with a Bachelor in Advertising. I also experienced 5 years emerged into advertising whilst simultaneously was gigging and touring around Brazil southeast. Destined for a life somewhere in the music and sound industry, I went on to study Audio and Acoustic at AVI (Audio and Video Institute) and Cinema Sound Design at ICA (International Cinema Academy). In 2017, I decided to keep learning music and made a decision which changed my life: to study Sound Production in Sydney Australia.
Now that I learned the inputs and outputs of audio world, I feel ready for another adventure which is working, jamming, producing, having a band and living where I always dreamed about it: Berlin.

I guess I've got a lot of gig experience. In addition to the bands listed above, between 2015-2016 I played 3 nights a week, every week with a band called The Lianne Rivers Band, around various venues in the UK.
I also spent 5 years studying music at Newcastle University, where I got my Bachelor and Masters in composition.
The kind of music I would like to make is pretty theory-based. I'm very interested in unusual scales and chord progressions, and would like to figure out how to write catchy, popular songs with these. You can hear one of my attempts at this with a tune called "Carnivalesque", which you can listen to here. This uses a strange mode (1 b2 b3 #4 5 6 b7).
It would be great to find a singer who ideally knows some music theory, or has studied jazz. I'm aiming to write music that is unique but also conveys some kind of political sentiment...

ÜBER:
Seit knapp 30 Jahren in verschiedenen Bands unterwegs, Britpop, Akustisch, Rock, Indy.
Eigentlich ist die Richtung egal, wenn die berühmte Chemie da ist. Musikalisch bin ich breit interessiert.
Wichtig ist mir beim Zusammenspiel in der Band, dass man sich gegenseitig zuhört und gemeinsam immer besser wird.
Aber auch die Sau rauslassen, gemeinsam jammen, es auch krachen lassen, der Spaß am der Musik ist das wichtigste!
Spiele auch Gitarre, elektrisch und akustisch, kenne mich mit Technik im Allgemeinen und mit Aufnahmetechnik gut aus.
Die Musikbeispiele, die mit "Probe" gekennzeichnet sind, habe ich selbst im Proberaum live als Multitrack mitgeschnitten und gemixt. Die Aufnahmen gehen alle in eine ähnliche Richtung, die Musikrichtung bitte nicht als Maßstab nehmen.
