Hey, I´m looking to start or join a recently formed band as a guitar player. The style I play is a mix of alternative rock, indie rock, grunge and shoegaze. The bands that are currently inspiring me are: Mannequin pussy, Blondshell, Momma, Chokecherry, Power Plush, Wisp, Deux visages, NewDad... My aim is to write songs, release self-made records and play gigs in, and if the opportunity occurs, out of Berlin. About me: I´m a 30-year-old man, relatively new to the guitar (2 years), but I have years of experience as a bass player (live and recording experience). I also used to play saxophone as a kid (I've been meaning to start again) and I know my way around a synth. I also taught myself recording and mixing so that I can make us nice diy records. My style: I like to play chords and leads, and I like to blend quiet and heavy parts in one song. My approach to playing is to often let space for other instruments to shine so that the spotlight is shared between all. It's important to me that the other musicians I play with share this mindset. My influences range from experimental rock bands such as Tortoise, Don Cab, This Heat, Can etc. to arty pop like Stereolab or Talking Heads to Dub, Jazz of all sorts, Electronic music, you name it. I would say anything beyond mainstream is my thing. Looking for collectives or just people to play and connect. I would describe my style as groovy, jazzy, non standard… with interest in odd time signatures and polyrhythms and I can hit it really loud and hard when I want it :). Als professionellen Musiker würde ich mich nicht bezeichnen, aber ich kann Studio- und Live-Erfahrung vorweisen. Mir macht es besonders viel Spaß, an neuen Songs zu arbeiten. Über grundlegende Fertigkeiten am Bass, der Akustikgitarre und am Mikrofon verfüge ich ebenfalls. Obwohl ich im Metal verwurzelt bin, möchte ich mich bei der Suche nach neuen Musiker*innen nicht auf ein konkretes Genre festlegen. Für mich ist es am entscheidendsten, dass eine Band ein stimmiges Konzept hat oder man dieses zusammen entwickelt. Sofern die Arbeitsweise innerhalb der Band gut funktioniert, wäre ich musikalisch für vieles offen. In den vergangenen Jahren habe ich sehr viel elektronische Musik gehört und könnte mir deshalb vorstellen, zukünftig Musik zu machen, die elektronische Sounds beinhaltet und die nicht ausschließlich auf verzerrten Gitarrenklängen basiert. Although my roots are in metal, I don't want to limit myself to a specific genre when looking for new musicians. Von meinem Jugendweihe-Geld habe ich mir neben einer Playstation auch ein E-Piano gekauft – das spiele ich bis heute. Mit Hilfe von YouTube-Videos habe ich mir die Basics beigebracht: Akkorde mit Begleitung, einfache Songs mit Melodie und sogar kleine Impro-Stücke. Dabei habe ich auch eine kleine Leidenschaft für Filmmusik und Scores entwickelt – ich mag das Dramatische und Melancholische. Später habe ich von einer Nachbarin eine Akustikgitarre und einen E-Bass geschenkt bekommen. I'm looking for someone to share my tiny but fully equipped studio in a nice part of Charlottenburg. I'm only there a couple of days a week, so it’s empty most of the time. The studio: - Very small — less than 8 m². - Really low ceiling (I'm 1.80 m and can just about stand upright; if you're taller, you won't be able to). - Accessible 24/7. - Has its own private toilet, only used by me and another guy who has a separate room in the same basement but is hardly ever around. - Very cheap rent. The price you’d pay depends on how often you plan to use it, but it'll be under €100/month. - Great location: 3 minutes’ walk from U-Bahnhof Richard-Wagner-Platz, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and cafés. - Fully equipped: monitors, sound interface, guitars, basses, electronic drum kit, a few synths, an electric piano with weighted keys, a couple of guitar amps, and some pedals. - Moderately humid (more so in summer than in winter), but never to the point where it’s a real problem. It stays fairly mild all year, and there’s a fan that can also heat, plus a dehumidifier. You: - Single musician, or possibly a duo if you’re not too big (I mean physically, not your album sales). Perfect if you want to practice your instrument without annoying your neighbours. - No party people. No afterparties, no before parties, no parties parties, no gatherings, no drugs, no getting pissed in there. Do all that — just not in this place. - Ideally you wouldn’t need to bring lots of extra equipment. There’s still space for some rack synths/effects, some small gear like a drum machine, maybe a guitar — but that’s it. - You must have valid Haftpflichtversicherung. My equipment and the room are insured (you can see the documents), but I also want proof you’re covered in case you accidentally smash the guitar my great-grandfather gave me on his deathbed. - You’ll need to pay one month’s rent plus a one month deposit — I’ll provide a receipt for this. 18-24 Schlagzeuger Fortgeschritten Moin! Ich bin Yanic und suche Mitmusiker für ein ambitioniertes Musikprojekt, da mein bisheriger Partner nicht mehr wirklich die Zeit und Lust dazu findet. Heyy, I am an amateur singer and I want to start playing with people. I am 24 and a student at FU. I have been singing on my own and sharing covers on my socials from time to time, and have had a few live experiences. Now I want to spend more time on it.
