Beeinflusst von Bands wie Led Zeppelin, Free ,Bad Company und Thin Lizzy, begann Chris Lyne im Alter von 11 Jahren mit dem Gitarrenspielen. Seine Haupteinflüsse waren Jimmy Page, Gary Moore, Paul Kossoff und später John Sykes.
Zwischen 1986 und 2011, spielte der in Berlin lebende Musiker in verschiedenen Hard Rock Bands inklusive der Gruppe SOUL DOCTOR ( 2000 - 2011 ), die bis dato fünf höchst erfolgreiche Studioalben und zwei Livealbum veröffentlicht hat. Chris Lyne spielte auf den großen Festivals unserer Zeit wie dem Wacken Open Air, dem Sweden Rock Festival und dem Rock Of Ages und tourte mit verschiedenen Bands , u.a. dem englischen Sänger Gary Barden (Michael Schenker Group) als Gitarrist um die ganze Welt.
Seine herausragende Gitarrenarbeit und sein sehr eigenständiger Stil mit internationalem Anspruch verhalfen ihm fortan ab 2011 auch stark als Studiomusiker aktiv zu werden und er arbeitete für viele internationale Künstler und Produktionen als Mastering und Soundengineer.
Seit 2005 Ist Chris Lyne auch als freiberuflicher Soundengineer, Vocalcoach sowie als Sessionmusiker im deutschen TV und Filmbereich tätig.
2013 gründete er mit dem in Austin, TX (USA) ansässigen Sänger Keith Slack die Hard Blues Rock-Band MOTHER ROAD.
Mit ihrem 2014 erscheinendem Debütalbum „Drive“ schaffte es die Band eindrucksvoll, den klassischen Sound dieses Genres in das aktuelle Jahrzehnt zu transferieren.
